Today's Washington Post includes a tragic story of a researcher who apparently committed suicide after being confronted with questions about the validity of his study.
The Post story by Peter Whoriskey, presents us with gruesome details, including a beyond the grave email to the main critic of the research Daniel Yuan.
The research study was published in the prestigious scientific journal Nature and it focused on detecting interactions between genes. However, Daniel Yuan wrote to Nature's editors to say the results were overstated and also that he found no evidence that the analyses described had actually been conducted.
