This weekend a twenty-six year old woman was arrested for the Nevada crime of DUI causing death for allegedly causing a fatal collision at the intersection of Wynn and Spring Mountain roads in Las Vegas. The driver of the other car was killed at the scene, though his 2-year-old passenger wasn't hurt. The suspect, who reportedly ran a red light just before the collision, sustained minor injuries.
Driving drunk and causing a car accident makes the driver susceptible to charges for the Nevada crime of DUI causing death. Note that the driver may still be charged with this crime even if he/she wasn't impaired but still had a blood alcohol content of .08 or above. A common defense to this crime is that the victim was more at fault than the driver.
