The Wall Street Journal reports that a federal jury has found former Goldman Sachs trader Fabrice Tourre liable on six of seven claims of securities fraud for misleading investors in connection with a mortgage-backed securities deal. The jury reached its verdict during its second day of deliberations and after sending the Court several jury notes inquiring about various legal elements of the securities fraud claims charged by the SEC. As a result of the verdict, Tourre may face a fine and a bar from the securities industy.
